Security Council

Pietra Santos
Head Chair
Antonio Ribeiro
Co-Chair
Hi everyone!
My name is Antonio Pithon Ferreira Ribeiro, but you guys can call me Antonio. I’m a sophomore at the Pan American School of Bahia, and I’m honored to be, alongside the outstanding Pietra Santos, the Co-Chair of the United Nations Security Council. My MUN journey began in 6th Grade, when I attended my first conference: RJMSMUN. This was an oline conference and, throughout my first experience as a MUN delegate, I was extremely apprehensive and shy. However, as I gained experience and understood how MUN was a valuable opportunity for my self-development, the stronger my passion for it grew, and, now, I’m almost 4 years into it.
Apart from this passion, I consider myself a thorough enthusiast of sports, especially soccer. For instance, I spend a lot of my free time watching soccer games, playing soccer videogames (FIFA, PES) and, whenever I have this opportunity, I choose to practice. In addition, I’m very attached to Christianism (Catholicism), always doing my best to follow what Jesus has told us to do.
As chair, I aim to establish a welcoming environment and ensure an academically prosperous debate, while also presenting myself as a reliable guide for delegates.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me at 28ribeiroa@pasb.com.br.
Hi! I’m Pietra Santos, a senior at the Pan American School of Bahia. I first joined Model United Nations because I was curious about how global issues are debated and solved, but it quickly became one of the most rewarding experiences of my school life. MUN has taught me how to think critically, express my ideas clearly, and understand different perspectives. It’s also helped me grow more confident and open-minded, both inside and outside the committee room.
Outside of MUN, I really enjoy playing soccer. It’s something that helps me disconnect, stay active, and appreciate teamwork, skills that surprisingly connect back to diplomacy and collaboration during conferences.
I’m really excited to serve as Chair this year and to see all the creativity, effort, and dedication delegates will bring to the debate. I hope this experience challenges you, inspires you, and reminds you why discussions like these truly matter.
Human Rights Council

Luiza Farsoni
Head Chair
Marina Araújo
Co-Chair
Hi everyone!
My name is Marina Araújo, and I’m a senior at the Pan American School of Bahia. I’m honored to serve, alongside Luiza Farsoni, the head chair, as the Co-Chair of the United Nations Human Rights Council.
My MUN journey began in 8th grade, when I attended my first conference, MUN Experience, an event designed to introduce middle school students to the world of Model United Nations. At the time, I was intimidated by the idea of joining the Security Council, known as one of the most challenging committees. Over the years, I participated in multiple conferences, gaining experience and confidence until I finally earned the position of co-chair in high school. MUN has played a major role in developing my public speaking and research skills, as well as strengthening my confidence.
Outside of academics, I’m passionate about staying active. I’m a defender on the school’s varsity soccer team and enjoy playing tennis. I also love architecture, art, and nature, as well as spending time at the beach, watching TV shows, and sharing good food with friends and family. Traveling and exploring new places are among my favorite hobbies.
As a chair, my goal is to create a respectful and welcoming environment for all delegates—supporting newcomers and encouraging experienced participants to continue growing. I hope everyone leaves this conference having learned something valuable.

Hello, delegates! I am Luiza Farsoni, and I am honored to serve as the Head Chair of the Human Rights Committee in SALMUN XIX. As a junior at PASB, I am fully committed to making this experience as unforgettable and entertaining as possible. My dedication to this role is unwavering, and I am excited to share this journey with you all.
Truth be told, participating in Model United Nations was always challenging for me. I was never the type of student who liked speaking in front of the class or engaging in discussions. However, after being put into situations where I had to participate in debates and deliver public speaking presentations, I blossomed. The experience I had in SALMUN was transformative, shaping me into the leader I am today. I am proud to be in a role that might inspire many delegates.
Overall, I am incredibly excited about this year’s conference and look forward to making our committee environment the most engaging and productive. I believe that by working together, we can encourage discussions and begin to see things with different eyes and perspectives. Please contact me at 26farsonil@pasb.com.br if you have any questions or concerns!
ECOFIN

Valentina El Hireche
Head Chair
Paula Rocha
Co-Chair
Hi delegates! My name is Paula Rocha, and I am currently a sophomore at PASB. I am honored to chair alongside Valentina E. In the ECOFIN committee for this year's SALMUN edition. I am anxious to meet all delegates and to hear all the amazing contributions brought to this conference. My past experience in MUN has helped me develop my critical thinking skills and encouraged me to be a risk-taker. During the committee sessions we aim to create a safe and inspiring environment for all delegates to improve their debating skills and find their passion for MUN.
Apart from MUN, I love spending time with my family and friends watching movies, playing games and going to the beach. One thing about me is that I love to sail during my free time.
One advice for all delegates is not to be afraid or intimidated by other delegations; they know as much as you do. Remember, mistakes are part of the learning process. Do not hesitate to raise your placard and entertain speeches and points of information. If you need anything else, please feel free contact me at 28rochap@pasb.com.br. I look forward to meeting all of you.
Hi everyone!
My name is Valentina El Hireche, and I’m a sophomore at the Pan American School of Bahia. I’m honored to serve, alongside Paula Rocha, as the Head Chair of the Economic and Financial Affairs Council (ECOFIN).
My MUN journey began in 7th grade, when I attended my first conference, MUNICKS, hosted by St. Nicholas Pinheiros School in São Paulo. I was very nervous at first, but it turned out to be an incredible experience that helped me grow as both a student and a person, improving my debating, public speaking, research, writing, and communication skills.
Outside of MUN, I am the co-founder of my social action project, Spreading Love, which focuses on supporting others with their mental health. Participating in these actions has been a truly meaningful experience. I have also been a TED-Ed speaker since 7th grade and am currently mentoring other students on their talks. In my free time, I love playing the piano, listening to music, watching movies, and spending time with my friends and family.
I’m really looking forward to SALMUN XX and hope it will be an unforgettable experience! As a chair, my goal is to foster a respectful and engaging debate where everyone feels comfortable representing their delegation’s position, leading to a productive and enjoyable conference.

European Union

Luize Fasani
Head Chair
Sofia Alves
Co-Chair
Hey everyone!
My name is Sofia Louise Gasparini Alves, but I mostly go by Sofi. I am a Junior at the Pan American School of Bahia, and am deeply honored to be able to stand alongside Luize Fasani, as her co-chair for the European Union. My MUN journey began a little later than most people’s, starting in eighth grade, during my last year of middle school. That was when I attended my first MUN conference, the MUN experience at PASB. A conference designed to introduce the world of Model United Nations to students. The reason I attended that year was because one of my teachers at the time recommended me to do so, since I enjoyed public speaking and with time, and as I started to participate in other conferences such as SALMUN and BRAMUN, my passion for it only grew!
Apart from being someone that loves MUN, I also am a complete Sport lover. I competed not only regionals for Bahia, but also nationals for Brazil in Equestrian Showjumping, and was captain of an equestrian team for two consecutive years. Recently, I have also re-joined tennis, after a few years of being off the court Apart from sports, I also am someone who really enjoys the art world, including music and visual arts.
As chair, my priority is to establish a welcoming environment for both first-time delegates and those who are already established MUN experts. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me at 27alvess@pasb.com.br.
Hi everyone!
My name is Luize Porto Fasani, but feel free to call me Lu. I am a sophomore at the Pan American School of Bahia, and I am delighted to be, alongside Sofia Alves, the Head Chair of the European Union Committee. After much resistance, my passion for MUN began in 2022, when I was in seventh grade, and I attended my first conference in MUN Experience. I was in a special committee full of special rules and adaptations, nothing I had previously prepared for. Still, I managed to be the delegate who spoke the most throughout the conference, thus discovering my enthusiasm for the conferences.
Ever since then, MUN has become one of my biggest interests, alongside performing arts, pursuits that, although it may not seem so, go hand in hand. Beyond my dedication to MUN and the arts, I also enjoy anything related to music: playing the piano, singing, dancing, as I have practiced since I was two, and listening to the songs I love most in my free time.
I hope that SALMUN XX will be a conference of uncovering MUN talents and passions for new delegates, and of improving the skills of those who already enjoy it. As chair, I intend to ensure great collaboration between delegates and establish a welcoming environment for all. If you have any doubts, please do not hesitate to contact me at 28fasanil@pasb.com.br!

My MUN journey began in 7th grade, when I participated in my first conference, MUNicks, hosted by St. Nicholas Pinheiros School in São Paulo. Hi everyone!
My name is Liz Novaes, and I’m currently an 11th-grade student at PASB. I am very excited and honored to be the Head Chair of the Trial Court Case Special Committee this year.
My journey in MUN began back in 7th grade, during the first MUN experience ever held at our school. I still remember how nervous I was about debating and public speaking at first but thanks to my incredible chairs, that insecurity quickly turned into confidence. My friend and I even ended up winning an award at the end of the conference! It was such an amazing experience to meet new people and engage in global issues in such an interactive and meaningful way.
Since then, I’ve continued to participate in several MUN conferences, and over time I realized how much it has helped me grow, not only as a communicator but also as a member of my community.
Outside of MUN, I love playing beach tennis and all kinds of sports. My favorite hobby is spending time with my friends and family, and I also enjoy going to the gym.
I have high hopes for SALMUN this year, and I’m confident it will be a huge success. My main goal as a chair is to make this the best experience possible for every delegate and to spark a passion for debate within each of you.

Constituent Assembly of 1988

Stella Francischetto
Head Chair
Carlos Pena
Co-Chair
Greetings to everybody!
I am Carlos Pena, Co-Chair of the Historical Council for Salmun, in collaboration with my Head Chair Stella Francischetto. This year, our committee will examine “The Constituent Assembly of 1988: Reconstructing Brazilian Democracy.”
I participated in SALMUN throughout all my years in high school, representing various delegations in three different conferences, and received awards that inspired me to enhance my skills and improve my comprehension of diplomacy. This is my inaugural experience as chair, and I am eager to embrace this task and lead delegates through a complex and significant subject. SALMUN has consistently been one of my preferred experiences, as it has imparted lessons in empathetic leadership, thorough research, and effective argumentation.
Apart from MUN, I am intensely interested in economics, history, and entrepreneurship, and I enjoy linking these disciplines to contemporary concerns. Post-school, I typically engage in athletic activities such as soccer and martial arts, or horseback riding, a lifelong interest that has instilled discipline and attention in me.
As Co-Chair, I aspire to cultivate an inclusive and stimulating atmosphere in which every delegate feels acknowledged, assured, and motivated to critically evaluate Brazil’s trajectory towards democracy.
Hi everyone!
My name is Stella Francischetto, and I am a sophomore at the Pan American School of Bahia. I am honored to, alongside Carlos Pena, serve as the Head Chair of the Constituent Assembly of 1988 Committee at SALMUN. My MUN journey began in 2021, when I was in 6th grade and decided to challenge myself with something completely new. I was super nervous and unsure, and unlike most others, although I never received any award as a delegate, I refused to let this define me. Instead, I kept pushing forward, learning and growing. This perseverance is what brought me here today, and if I had let disappointment stop me, I wouldn't be serving as a chair this year.
Outside of MUN, I love playing my violin, which I have done since I was six years old, and I am part of the TedEd Club at PASB, where I have presented three talks - one of which was featured on the official TedEd Student Talks youtube. I also am very passionate about theater, having performed in school productions, such as Frozen jr. as one of the Annas and Ariels in The Little Mermaid Jr. My enthusiasm for art and public speaking have also shaped my aspirations of working with communication or film in the future!
As a chair, I hope to be able to create a welcoming and supportive environment, helping every delegate reach their full potential. If you ever need assistance, do not hesitate to contact me at: 28ribeiros@pasb.com.br
